Office Policies

EMERGENCIES

In addition to our regular office hours, our practice has coverage 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. There is a doctor on call each night and all weekend. During regular office hours, please call our office before going to the emergency room or hospital. We make time for patient emergencies and want to be available to help you.

Medication Refills

We will not authorize prescription refill requests from your pharmacy. If your current prescription has no more refills remaining, please contact our office to schedule an appointment well in advance of taking your last amount of medication. If lab tests are required, please mention that when you schedule your appointment.

Please understand that this policy is in your best interests. We take your medical care seriously and would like you to understand how important it is to regularly monitor any changes to your health status that can occur over a period of time. Our goal is to do our best to help our patients live healthy and happy lives.

Cancellation Policy

We realize patients may need to change their appointments; however, we require a 24-hour notification of cancellation of your appointment so we may offer that time to another patient. If you fail to cancel, you may be billed for the scheduled time.

Insurance Claims/Billing

Arbor Family Medicine participates with most major insurance carriers. As a courtesy to our patients, we will file insurance claims for those insurances with which we participate. Please remember, any amount not covered by insurance is ultimately the patient's responsibility. A list of the major insurance companies we participate with is on this website, but please contact your insurance company to confirm that we are still participating.

Payment

Payment will be requested at the time of service for all services that are non-covered or determined to be the patient's responsibility, including co-payments. Payment may be made by cash, check, Mastercard, Visa, American Express or Discover.Our fees are comparable to the usual and customary fees charged by other family medicine physicians in this area.
